It's been a long time!
I hadn't realized how long it has been since I have written anything. I have been crazy busy with life. My husband and I after a lot of prayer have decided that at the end of May he will quit Von's. It seems easy enough but when you really look deep into the situation its not as easy as it sounds. The Lord is really working on both of us to trust him completely. Right now he is only working 24 hours just enough hours to keep our benefits. He is also going to school full time and working at a hospital 2 days a week. He has no days off and its starting to show. In May he will be interning full time at the hospital for a whole year. Since it is an intern program they do not get paid for there work the program does give them a $300.00 stipin a month. He considered working at Von's Sat. and Sun. but that was never anything I agreed with. I now understand where he was coming from. He has never not had a job where he was being paid and he has been at Von's now for almost 10 years. He knows his job pretty well. Now he is going into a much more intense field a lot more demanding but at the same time way more rewarding in my eyes. The Lord has blessed him with a huge heart. I really believe that he (after his nerves settle down) will be a great example for the Lord. He has a gift to make people feel comfortable in times of stress and pain. I have always known it but I think he is now seeing it a little. When I had my spinal tap if that x-ray tech wasn't there to hold my hand and talk me through the procedure I probably would have knocked out the doctor who was sticking a very large needle into my spin telling me "don't worry its almost over." The hard part for him is that he has a wife and puppy to take care of and without his regular income that just wasn't OK to him. At the beginning of this semester he put me in charge of our finances. I wanted to show him that we would be OK. So I put together a presentation (it was like being in high school again) of monthly bills and stuff we could cut back on and so on. It was about a month later he came to me and we talked and he got a big smile on his face and said if I quit Von's I could go to family functions and we could do things together. I think he finally realized my point I was trying to make all along. Sat. and Sun. off for a whole year. Some people think I have made up a imaginary husband because they never get to see him. Everyone says "wheres frank?" and I always say "hes at work." We are very excited to see what the Lord has in store for us in the next year. We both know it wont be easy but with the Lord on our side we know we can get through it!
