Im 15 weeks!

My growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). It's busy moving amniotic fluid through it's nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in it's lungs begin to develop. It's legs are growing longer than it's arms now, and it can move all of it's joints and limbs. Although it's eyelids are still fused shut, it can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, it's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but it is forming taste buds.

I fell in love yesterday...

With my baby's heart beat!!!

Yesterday I had a doctors apt to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time. I was well... we all were super excited. It was a full room with my hubby, me, the baby, my mom, my sissy and the doctor.

My doctor said my baby's heart beat is strong and sounds great!!! All my blood tests came back normal and healthy so that was all good news. My doctor was a little concerned that I lost a pound since the last time I was in. I have to tell you I was happy about that, but I let him know that I am eating and drinking. I think that because Im eating more often and not huge portions is what is going on.

Look at the daddy to be he is super excited to hear his baby's heart beat. We are just so crazy excited!!! Everything is really going good. I haven't gotten sick and Im starting to feel my energy coming back.

12 week update

Here is an update on the baby. This week it is baby lime! HaHaHa.

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, it's toes will curl, it's eye muscles will clench, and it's mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. It's intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into it's abdominal cavity about now, and it's kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

I'm love learning about the growth of babies. I get a lot of info from a book that my sweet cousin Ashleigh told me about "The complete guide to pregnancy and child birth" and a website.

Happy Thursday!

I'm 11 weeks today

Isn't it awesome how the Lord has made our bodies work to create another living human being. I'm having so much fun learning how my body is changing and what is going on inside there. Today I am exactly 11 weeks so here is what my body will be doing for the next week. :)

If you have felt nauseated during the last weeks, (oh yes I have) the sickness may gradually lessen from now onward. (praise the Lord there's a light at the end of this tunnel.) The amount of blood circulating through your body has stared to increase, and will go on increasing until about the 30th week. You should be discovering what childbirth classes are available, since they often get booked up early. Your baby's testicles or ovaries have formed at this point,(oh I can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl) as have all it's major organs. These will not develop much further, although they continue to grow inside the uterus. The baby is relatively safe from the risk of developing and congenital abnormalities from the end of this week.

So there you have it. i love one of the websites I go on because the baby is always the size of something and this week it is the size of a kumquat. My sister was calling baby poppy, baby peanut, baby grape, all kinds of things so this week its baby kumquat.

Happy October!!!!!
