Trusting the Lord with everything!

Trusting in the Lord is something we have been called to do. I have to admit at times I don't do what I should. Just ask my mom :) Life would be so much easier if I could just listen and obey! Throughout my husbands 2 year program with the hospital I have had a peace about him getting a job. Whether it is at the hospital he is at right now or in the desert. The Lord gave me a peace about that situation and has told me that he will take care of us and provide, and for the past 1 year and a half that is just what he has done!! So... why now would I lose my focus and doubt? I will tell you why because I'm human and not perfect. My husband had to remind me with our living situation that the Lord will provide and help us find the perfect place for us to live. It might not be our view of perfect but the Lord knows what we need. I have to admit it hit hard, my husband was right I needed to stop worrying and be faithful. That is just what Im going to do too!!!! It's not official on paper but my husbands boss told him last Friday "go home and tell your wife you have a job!" This was an answer to prayer. Frank has been a little on edge with where he wants to be in the hospital but he has been asked to take a high position and higher pay. We are so excited to see what the Lord has in store for us and our family. Please keep us in your prayers we are still looking for a place to start our family and for our current living situation. Thank you for all your support and love.

Flip Book tutorial

Ok here we go please bear with me if I get a little too wordy. This is only my second tutorial and this one is going to be a little longer than the last. If you have any questions about any step in this that I don't clarify enough please let me know.

Supply List:

1- 11"x11" piece of thin chipboard
2- 5 1/2"x11" pieces of thin chipboard
18-3"x5" or 3 1/2"x5" Whisper white paper (I prefer 3 1/2"x5")
2- 12"x12" Designer paper
4- 12"x12" solid cardstock (make sure it matches your designer paper)
Ribbon- about 4 feet (it should be at least 2 inches in thickness)
Sticky strip or glue stick
bone folder
paper cutter
scoring blade
scissors

1. Cut your thin chip board down to size. You need one piece that is going to be 11"x11". You need two pieces that are going to be 5 1/2"x11". Don't cut your designer paper down you will need those extra inches.

2. Cut one of your designer pieces of paper in half. You should have a 12"x12" piece of paper so now you should have 2 pieces that are 6"x12". Now you are ready to attach your designer paper to your three pieces of thin chip board.

3. Your going to cut off all the corners of the designer paper. This will make your corners fold nicely. Fold over all four sides and attach with sticky strip.

4. Take your ribbon and put some adhesive on the back and attach it to the inside of your flip book. You can try and eye the middle or you can use a ruler and be exact.

5. Cut 2 pieces of your solid card stock down to 11"x12". These are going to be used as the fan folds on the inside. You are going to score at 1 1/2" from one side to the other. Then fold like an accordion and use your bone folder to flatten.

6. Attach the accordion pieces to the inside of the 11"x11" thin chip board. After you attached the accordion pieces to the inside attach the other side of the accordion to the 5 1/2"x11" piece. That will make the front of your book.

7. Cut one solid piece of paper down to 10 7/8"x 10 7/8" and attach it to the inside of your book. This piece should cover the accordion attached to the thin chip board. Cut 2 pieces of solid paper down to 5 3/8"x 10 7/8". Attach those to the inside of your smaller pieces which will also cover the accordion that is attached to the thin chip board.

8. Take your 18 pieces of whisper white 3"x5" or 3 1/2"x5" cards. You are going to attach these to your accordion pieces. Two on the outside and one on the inside.

Here is what the finished product should look like. I hope everyone had fun! If anyone has any questions or comments please feel free to let me know.

Oppps

I told a few people that the tutorial for the flip book would be up yesterday in the afternoon. To those I am very sorry I forgot the ribbon and without the ribbon you cannot put the book together. I will do it today and have it up in the later afternoon. Thank you for being patient with me.

Im hooked on blogging!

I am hooked on blogging, an I don't know if that is a good thing or not. My Aunt and my cousin told me once you start reading and getting out there looking at different blogs you are going to get hooked. Well congratulations you were right. :) There are so many fun blogs out there to read and these amazing women have all kinds of things to offer. This morning I was so excited to sit down with a cup of tea and just read for about 2 hours. I know what you are saying... how do you have 2 free hours to just sit? Well.... Monday and Tuesday I kicked butt at work and cleaned the house from top to bottom just so when I put Emma down for a nap today I could go on a blogging spree. Today I am working on laundry while she is sleeping, so Im not just reading and commenting. Ha Ha but that's mostly what I am doing with my two quit hours. Just in case you are wondering what I do for a living I will tell you. I was a preschool teacher/assistant director for 6 years. After getting a bad case of Vertigo my husband and I prayed for something else to come along. I was out of work for a little over a year and with a lot of praying a family friend asked me to watch their child full time. My husband and I prayed about it for a while and decided that the Lord was opening and closing all the doors for this to happen. I have been watching her for a little over a year now and I love it! I feel like the Lord is preparing me to be a mommy. I watch Emma for 9 hours a day and take care of their two dogs and their home. I really do love what I do. Well... I better get back to blogging.

Photo Book

Yesterday I had my monthly demonstrator meeting and this is what we made. I know I know its sooooo cute right!!!! Well let me tell you it was pretty easy too! I know you don't believe me but I'm not fibbing it was pretty simple to make. I sent these pictures out to 4 of my VIP's that meet monthly and they have already booked a party and we are going to make them. This has got to be one of my most favorite things I have made so far!

This is what the inside looks like. There are 18 white pieces of paper total, so you could fill all 18 with pictures or you could add some journaling whatever you like best. I really can't stress enough just how cute they are. Happy Stampin!

Life is good!

This card is called "Life is good!" I'm going to make a list of all the supplies I used and a tutorial on how to put the card together. This will show you just how easy it is to put together a cute card.

Stamp set: She's all that, Weathered background

Paper: Old Olive, So Saffron, Whisper White, and Basic Black

Ink: Basic Black

Accessories: 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain Ribbon, mini glue dots and snail adhesive

Here is the tutorial to put your card together.

Your going to cut your card (old olive) at 5 1/2" by 8 1/2". Score your card at 4 1/4"

Take the Basic Black paper and cut it at 3 1/2" by 4 1/2".

Take your So Saffron paper and cut it at 3 1/4" by 4 1/4".

Take your Whisper White paper and cute it at 3" by 4".

Now that you have all your paper cut out we will stamp the images on the paper and put the card together. Take your Weathered background stamp and your Old Olive stamp pad. Here is how I like to use my background stamps, because they are larger stamps I flip them on their backs. After I put my ink on them I lay the paper on top and press down, you can use a scratch piece of paper to lay on top so your hands don't get dirty. Put your Old Olive ink on your background stamp and lay your card (Old Olive) onto of the background stamp rub the image onto the paper. Next take your Whisper White paper and your Life is good stamp. Apply your Life is good stamp to your Basic Black ink and stamp your image on the paper. Now take your ribbon and make a bow and trim the extra ribbon on the bottom. A helpful hint to make it look super cute is cut the ribbon at an angel. Now we are ready to put our card together!!! Take your Whisper White paper and your snail adhesive and attach it to the So Saffron paper. Take that set and attach it to the Basic Black paper. Take that set and attach it to the Old Olive card. Last step (your almost done) put a mini glue dot on the back of your bow and attach it to your card. This is what your card should look like when your done.

I have only given a tutorial in person during a workshop so... I hope that it was some what helpful. If you have any questions or I didn't explain something enough let me know. Happy stamping!!!

Happy Tax Day to me!

I'm so excited my husband got me a present today. He told me it was "Happy Tax Day to me." I can't even tell you the emotion I felt when I started ripping it out of the box to play with it!

This is one of the first user manuals I have WANTED to read and learn everything this wonderful machine can do for me. Just in case you don't know what this machine is I will explain it to you. It is a scrapbooker and stampers dream machine! This machine is called the Cricut. It can basically cut out any die cut you want. For me and scrapbooking this is going to save me on letters like you wouldn't believe. I buy so many sticker letters and you know you never have enough of the letter you need. Well..... say goodbye to those days I can type in whatever letter I want and size and out it comes. There are just endless opportunities to this machine.

My husband got me the 12x12 machine. There are two different sizes, the 12x12 and 9 1/2 by 6 I believe is the other size. This machine can really do so many different things. I love the 12x12 size because I can put in a whole piece of scrapbooking paper. I love that it has a sensor in it and you can use all your scrap pieces. If your like me you keep all your scrap pieces of paper (that are worth saving) but always wonder what am I going to do with those. I now have a plan to use all my scrap pieces. Just wanted to share what a great husband I have!

Aunt Mishel theres just one more thing I NEED!!! :)
