How's the moving going.....

It's going! I guess I can give you a few more details than that but I was just trying to keep you from getting a head ache. Here goes. I have to start off by saying that my husband and I did do a walk through with the landlord. We started moving in last friday night. My family came down to help us move and my awesome mom painted our bathrooms. I don't know how she does it in two days she painted both bathrooms without taping anything. As soon as we get a little more settled in I will post the pictures of the rooms.

Here is the break down.

1st- We bought a washer and dryer at Best Buy and they were delivering it on Sunday. Te delivery man showed up on time and tried hooking the washer up. He found that he couldn't because where the hose hooks to the line there was a leak. Sunday from 3:00pm to 11:00pm we had a plumber at our house trying to fix it and well couldn't. He hooked up the cold water but because where the hose hooks up to the spout is 15 years old (i know nothing about this kind of stuff) and i guess in poor condition it needs to be completely fixed. So.... we are waiting on that.

2nd- My mom was painting and made a scary discovery. When I did the walk through I thought that the tiles were just dirty and that I was just going to have to clean them. Well boy oh boy was I wrong. My mom was painting bare foot and stepped on the tile and found that her foot was wet. She pressed on the tile again and found water coming up from the tile. That is a problem even to me someone who knows nothing about these kinds of things. To make this as short as possible there is a major problem the plumber found, he took the toilet off and found there is a major leak. Again I know nothing about these things so Im explaining this as best as I can. There is suppose to be a wax seal when you take off the toilet well there wasn't there was wool. Then he called us in there to look and it looked like there was a tree growing into our toilet. So all that got fixed and he is suppose to come fix the tile as soon as he knows there isn't a leak anymore. Which Im giving him no more than a week. Cause remember there is black mold on the tile!! Not healthy at all!!!

3rd- The sink in the kitchen doesn't have a flitter in it so when you turn on the water to any pressure other than extra low the water sprays everywhere. When we did the walk through he turned it on but not high and so I just thought cool it works. Doing dishes with the pressure being low just doesn't work!!

4th- Yesterday I turned the air conditioning on to 75 degrees for the dogs, well when I got home the house didn't feel cool at all. So I turned it off and we went to my husbands parents house to fill our cars up with more stuff that we didn't take over the day of the move. When we got home it was 83 degrees so we turned the air on to cool the house. Frank noticed too that the house wasn't cooling off but we just kept running it to see if it needed to warm up. Keep in mind our first place didn't have air so we know nothing about this kind of stuff. We left it on until about 11:00pm and then I told Frank to just turn it off and turn on the fan. Wouldn't it be great if thats where the story ended. It would because that would have meant I got a good night sleep, but there is more. We headed to bed about 10is and from then to about 11:00pm someone rang our door bell three times. The first time we didn't hear it but I woke up to the dogs barking. I got them back into bed and calmed them down then I heard the door bell ring and woke Frank up. He went and looked out the peep hole and saw nothing, then again it rang and he went outside and still there was nobody. We were so upset to think someone thought this was funny to ring the doorbell and take off. We both didn't sleep well at all bring upset and a little nervous. This morning I woke up to this note on my door. COULD YOU PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING YOUR AIR CONDITIONING AS IT HAS A EVAPORATOR LINE LEAK AND IT IS FLOODING MY STORE ROOM. I ALREADY SPOKE TO PREY YOUR LANDLORD. THANK YOU, ED CHAVEZ UNIT B. Im just so not happy to think that I was flooding someone's room, I know it wasn't my fault but still how horrible. If your good at CSI stuff then you can put it all together but if not I will connect the dots for you. The ringing of the doorbell was the guy in the unit behind us trying to tell us his room was being flooded. The doorbell ringing stopped because I asked my husband to turn off the air because it didn't feel like it was working. Today the air guy is coming out to look at the unit and he's going to fix it.

5th- When we looked at all three bedrooms while doing the walk through one room smelled like cat pee. If any of you know what that smells like you know it isnt pretty, but take that smell and times is by 100. I thought the room smelt bad and just needed to be aired out. When we started moving in I asked my husband to get a Rug Doctor so we could clean the carpet. I was hoping this would solve the problem.. boy was I wrong it actually made it worse cause it brought the smell back up to the surface. I called our landlord and he set up an apt. for a carpet person to come out and check it out. He didn't even need to lift a corner he said it was bad. They ended up ripping it out right then and there and sanitizing the concert. Just to give you an idea of how bad it was there was so much cat urine that it couldn't soak into the carpet and the pad it was sitting on the concert. I almost threw up from the smell, it was really that bad! The carpet guy said that is the worst carpet he has ever seen.

Needless to say this has all been an eye opening experience. I would like to think that the Lord is pre-pairing us to buy a home one day. We are still unpacking and trying to stay in good spirits! If you think of us at all throughout your day please say a prayer for us! We know that is where the Lord wants us to be but we need his strength to help us through this. That is how the moving is going! We are super excited to have our own place but we will be even more super excited when this is all over!!!!

Ohhh, bless your heart. I'm sorry you're finding all of these things now. This too shall pass. Once you get everything fixed, it'll be great! Just hang in there. I'll pray for ya!

What's moving without a few hitches. How many things are still missing? I couldn't find the box with my jeans or shorts. I really got tired of the same three pairs before I found them. I know I had more than that packed in my suitcase . . . Its funny how things dissapear during a move. Hope you get settled and unpacked with out finding any more major set backs :)
